In Memory Of

MY HEROES

In Memory of All The Victims Lost On September 11, 2001

This page is dedicated to friends and family or just people I've admired through the years of my life that are no longer with us. Princess Diana is a good one to start off with. She was the same age as my son and a person I have admired for all the good she has done for the world and the suffering people in it. Recently, we have discovered through our genealogical research that Princess Diana is about my 3rd cousin, 28 times removed. :-) With so many others, I will miss her always.

Here are two of my favorite pictures of my son Jimmy (James William McBride). He was the light of my life and was killed in an automobile accident on January 2, 1979. I will always miss his smile, his teasing, his laughter and his presence. Jimmy had what is known as "Absolute Pitch" in music and was studying to be a keyboard master. He was well on his way and writing his own songs after only a few months of piano lessons. Most of all though, I just miss my beautiful son.

This is a picture of my dad, Navy Commander, James William Robinson. I was a true "Daddy's Girl", that's for sure. Another person I miss a lot and think of often. My dad was a Navy pilot in WW2 and flew in the South Pacific. He was flying an unarmed plane the day Pearl Harbor was bombed and saw the Japanese coming. He tried to radio back a warning, but they had jammed the airways and he couldn't. All he could do was fly into the sun so they wouldn't see him. He received a 50 year anniversary Navy commendation for this act, but it came long after his death. I miss the great talks we used to have, and of course, being spoiled by him.
